Joanne Oleksyk is an associate in Crowell & Moring's White Collar & Regulatory Enforcement Group at the firm’s New York office. She represents individuals and entities throughout all stages of criminal, regulatory, and internal investigations. Joanne’s practice has focused on the financial services and pharmaceutical industries, and she routinely represents clients under investigation by the U.S. Department of Justice, U.S. Securities and Exchange Commission, New York Department of Financial Services, and FINRA. Joanne also practiced in the firm's Commercial Litigation Group for three years, and assisted the court-appointed monitor of the New York City District Council of the United Brotherhood of Carpenters and its Benefit Funds.

  • Representing an investment bank sales executive under investigation for market manipulation by the SEC, resulting in no enforcement action recommended.
  • Representing pharmaceutical companies in connection with federal and state antitrust investigations.
  • Representing a securities trader in connection with a FINRA Rule 4530 report.
  • Representing a broker-dealer in connection with the SEC investigation of a brokerage consulting client.
  • Achieving dismissal on the pleadings in shareholder litigation over executive compensation.
  • Opposing successfully an order to show cause seeking to seize a developer’s proprietary software without payment.
  • Representing an energy trading company seeking to enforce its monetary judgment against alter egos.
  • Defending an individual against constitutional and statutory claims seeking personal liability for prison conditions through Supreme Court certification.

Joanne also maintains an active pro bono practice, representing clients in criminal, immigration, and family proceedings.
