The International Legal Technology Association has named Crowell & Moring’s chief innovation and value officer Alma Asay to its 2024 list of Influential Women in Legal Technology. The annual list honors “outstanding women leaders in the global legal technology community.” Honorees are selected based on their history of mentorship and “level of impact on legal technology.”

Edward Taelman has joined Crowell & Moring’s Brussels office as a partner. His litigation experience and technical knowledge will strengthen the firm’s Intellectual Property Practice Group, particularly in the area of trademark litigation.

Crowell & Moring is proud to announce that Sadina Montani has been nominated by the D.C. Bar Committee on Nominations to become president-elect of the D.C. Bar for the 2024-2025 term.

A Crowell & Moring Corporate team represented Stell Engineering in an oversubscribed $4 million seed round led by Long Journey Ventures and Cyan and Scott Banister, raising money that will help the early stage software startup continue to scale their team, refine their product, and create new supply chain functions. Third Prime, Wischoff Ventures, Urban Innovation Fund, Forward Deployed VC, and Fulcrum Venture Group also participated in the seed round, along with a group of angel investors.

Foreign Investment Watch named Crowell & Moring partner Caroline E. Brown to its list of Top Advisors 2024. The list recognizes the “top advisors who provide advice and counsel concerning foreign investment and national security in the U.S. and abroad.”

Crowell & Moring’s International Trade Group has been named a Practice Group of the Year for 2023 by Law360.

ALM Law.com International has shortlisted Crowell & Moring’s Doha office in its premier Middle East Legal Awards 2024 for the categories of “Law Firm of the Year – Qatar” and “Law Firm Leader of Year,” recognizing Doha managing partner Charbel Maakaron.

The National Association of Women Lawyers named Crowell & Moring counsel Alexandra Barbee-Garrett to the NAWL Rising List for 2024. The list honors “early- to mid-career attorneys committed to NAWL’s mission by either advancing women in the profession or advocating for women under the law.”

DCA Live named Crowell & Moring partner Adelicia R. Cliffe to its list of NEW Power Women of GovCon. The list honors women “leading and advising some of the fastest growing and most exciting firms in the DC region’s robust and dynamic government contracting community.”

Andrea Surratt, a former Assistant U.S. Attorney in both the Southern District of New York and the District of Colorado, has joined Crowell & Moring’s Denver office in the White Collar and Regulatory Enforcement Group.

The Hispanic National Bar Association named Crowell & Moring associate Amber Gonzales to its list of “Top Lawyers Under 40.” The list recognizes lawyers who have demonstrated professional excellence, integrity, leadership, commitment to the Hispanic community, and dedication to improving the legal profession. Recipients will be honored on Thursday, March 21st at an awards reception at the Chihuly Garden Glass venue in Seattle, Wash.

Crain’s Chicago Business has named partners Laura Lydigsen and Virginia Wolk Marino to its 2024 “Notable Women in Law” list. The series profiles women lawyers in top roles across Chicago who have handled significant matters, mentored others, and made notable contributions to their communities.

The Daily Journal selected Crowell & Moring’s successful defense of WhiteWater West Industries, Ltd., in Pacific Surf Designs Inc. v. Whitewater West Industries Ltd., as one of its “Top Verdicts” for 2023. The annual list recognizes the largest and most significant verdicts in California by dollar, impact, defense victories, and appellate reversals. 

Leadership Council on Legal Diversity has selected Sima Namiri-Kalantari as a member of its 2024 class of Fellows. In addition, associates Roy Abernathy and Ashleigh Kaspari have been named to the LCLD 2024 class of Pathfinders.

Enson has represented leading companies in some of the most complex international cartel investigations and antitrust class actions of recent years, including major jury trials.
