Washington – January 3, 2022: Crowell & Moring elected 13 lawyers to the firm’s partnership, effective January 1, 2022. Washington – February 22, 2019: Crowell & Moring LLP’s Antitrust Group has again been recognized as “Highly Recommended” in Global Competition Review’s (GCR) 19th edition of the “GCR 100” – the leading ranking of the world’s competition policy law and economics practices. This marks the fourth year in a row in which the firm was ranked as “Highly Recommended” in Washington, D.C. and New York. Additionally, the group was ranked as “Recommended” in California. The Federal Trade Commission announced its annual updates to the thresholds and filing fees related to the Hart-Scott-Rodino Antitrust Improvements Act of 1976 (the HSR Act) on Monday. These dollar thresholds are indexed annually based on changes in the U.S. gross national product and the Consumer Price Index.

The Federal Trade Commission announced yesterday the most significant changes to the jurisdictional thresholds and filing fees applicable to the Hart-Scott-Rodino Antitrust Improvements Act of 1976 (the HSR Act) in several decades.

In a first-of-its kind enforcement action, on Wednesday the Federal Trade Commission announced settlements with three companies and two individuals who the agency claimed violated Section 5 of the FTC Act by imposing non-compete restrictions on their workers that the agency said constituted an unfair method of competition. The agency said these non-compete restrictions prevented workers from obtaining higher wages and impeded other companies’ ability to compete.
