Diane Shrewsbury is a counsel in Crowell & Moring’s Antitrust & Competition Group and is located in the Washington, D.C. office. Diane's antitrust practice involves both plaintiff and defense-side client representation in complex antitrust litigation matters.

From 2016 to 2020, Diane served as the career law clerk for the Honorable Rosemary M. Collyer in the U.S. District Court for the District of Columbia. From 2013 to 2016, Diane was an associate in Crowell & Moring’s Washington, D.C. office and a member of the Antitrust and Litigation groups.

Representative matters include:

  • Represented Owens & Minor Distribution, Inc., the nation’s largest distributor of medical and surgical supplies, in defense of litigation alleging unlawful tying, bundling, and exclusive dealing under Sherman Act § 1, Clayton Act § 3, and Kansas state law, resulting in a grant of summary judgment in Owens & Minor’s favor. Crowell & Moring also represented Owens & Minor in the Tenth Circuit Court of Appeals, which upheld the District of Kansas’s grant of summary judgment for Owens & Minor and its co-defendant, dismissing all claims.
  • Represented a major U.S. airline in defense of Sherman Act Section 1 and Section 2 claims brought by the U.S. Department of Justice regarding slots at Newark Liberty International Airport. The case was dismissed by DOJ.
  • Represented a major hotel management company in dispute with Owner over termination of management agreement for Caribbean resort.

Diane is also actively involved in pro bono, with an emphasis on indigent criminal defense. She sat first chair in representing an individual facing felony criminal charges in Montgomery County Circuit Court.

Diane graduated from the University of Chicago Law School. At Chicago, Diane participated in the Federal Criminal Justice Clinic, where she represented federal criminal defendants and appeared on their behalf in the U.S.  District Court for the Northern District of Illinois. She was also the senior articles editor of the Legal Forum, a student-edited annual journal that focuses on a single cutting-edge legal issue. Diane's comment, "Degrees of Corruption: The Current State of 'Corrupt Persuasion' in 18 USC §1512," was published in the Fall 2012 volume titled Combating Corruption.
