Wietse Vanpoucke focuses predominantly on the life sciences industry and has a particular interest in digital health. Clients ranging from innovative startup ventures to multinational corporations rely on Wietse for advice regarding European regulatory affairs and on all aspects of intellectual property and information technology law. He also has a keen interest in emerging technologies, such as artificial intelligence, blockchain, and the internet of (medical) things, and he closely monitors legal developments that affect the use of these technologies.
Wietse is an associate in Crowell & Moring’s Brussels office and a member of the Tech and Intellectual Property Group. Prior to joining Crowell, he worked in the life sciences practice of a top-tier Belgian boutique law firm, where he focused mainly on complex and strategic transactions throughout the entire life cycle of a product (including R&D, clinical trials, and supply chain).
Wietse frequently undertakes pro bono work for clients seeking support in a variety of legal matters, including criminal, immigration, and civil law. He has also worked for an international nongovernmental organization.
