Thomas Kinney is an associate in the Washington, D.C. office of Crowell & Moring, where he practices in the firm’s Product Liability & Torts and Insurance/Reinsurance groups.
Tom’s torts practice involves representing product manufacturers and distributors in mass toxic tort claims in state and federal courts. His work focuses primarily on asbestos related claims, and his recent engagements include counseling a major multinational corporation in connection with its premises liability litigation.
Tom also has an active insurance practice, counseling insurers in complex coverage disputes, and providing strategic counseling on underlying litigation.
Tom earned his J.D. from The George Washington University Law School in 2012. During law school, he focused on alternative dispute resolution strategies, and was named to the school’s Alternative Dispute Resolution Board. He also won the Spanogle International Commercial Arbitration Moot in 2011 and represented GW Law at the Willem C. Vis International Moot in Hong Kong in 2012. Tom received his B.A. in political science (with honors) from the University of New Hampshire in 2008.
Prior to joining Crowell & Moring, Tom served as a judicial law clerk to the Honorable William W. Nooter on a civil law calendar and the Honorable Noel T. Johnson on a domestic relations (Child Abuse and Neglect) calendar.
