Shane W. Romero is an associate in Crowell & Moring’s Orange County office, where she practices in the firm’s Antitrust Group. She represents clients in complex litigation involving civil and criminal antitrust actions in federal court.

Shane is a seasoned litigator who comes to Crowell & Moring after serving in the U.S. Department of Justice. She began her practice as a Trial Attorney in the Antitrust Division of the U.S. Department of Justice. While in the Division’s Networks & Technology Section, she worked on high-profile civil antitrust investigations and litigations in cutting-edge industries. Subsequently, she served as a federal prosecutor in the U.S. Attorney’s Office for the Western District of Texas, where she tried multiple felony criminal cases to verdict in federal court. She also led criminal investigations and prosecutions in a wide variety of subject areas and was a member of the Organized Crime and Drug Enforcement Task Force (OCDETF) section.

Shane earned her B.A. from the University of Pennsylvania and her J.D. magna cum laude from the Benjamin N. Cardozo School of Law, where she was a member of the Cardozo Law Review. During law school, she worked on issues at the intersection of law and technology as a Howard M. Squadron Media Fellow and Google Policy Fellow.

After graduating law school, Shane completed a federal clerkship with the Honorable Kathleen Cardone, U.S. District Court, Western District of Texas. She also interned for the Honorable Susan D. Wigenton, U.S. District Court, District of New Jersey, as part of Cardozo Law’s Alexander Fellows Program.
