Sarah A. Hill is an associate in Crowell & Moring’s Washington, D.C. office, where she maintains an active litigation and counseling practice focused on False Claims Act litigation, internal and government investigations, mandatory and voluntary disclosures, and contract disputes. She also represents government contractors in bid protests before the Government Accountability Office and the Court of Federal Claims.

Representative litigation matters include:

  • Representing a federal contractor in the aerospace industry in a qui tam suit. Relator voluntarily dismissed the suit after Crowell & Moring persuaded the Department of Justice to decline intervention. 
  • Defending a subcontractor against the Department of Justice’s allegations that the subcontractor provided defective materials on a government construction project. The case settled on terms favorable to the defendant.
  • Representing an international defense contractor in suit brought by a teaming partner regarding performance of a federal contract. 

Representative investigation matters include:

  • Conducting an internal investigation of, and managing disclosure in connection with, employee qualifications on a government contract. 
  • Conducting an investigation in response to an IG subpoena regarding alleged mischarging of labor costs on a government contract. 
  • Conducting an internal investigation regarding potential subcontractor billing of unallowable employee benefits.

Sarah also maintains an active pro bono practice. She currently represents clients seeking asylum in the U.S. after fleeing persecution based on their religion, political opinions, or sexual orientation.

Sarah received her J.D. from the University of Georgia School of Law in 2015 and was inducted into the Order of the Coif. She served as a notes editor for the Georgia Journal of International Law and represented a criminal defendant before the D.C. Circuit Court of Appeals as a member of the Appellate Litigation Clinic. She also interned with the Department of Justice Office of Immigration Litigation. She received her B.A. cum laude with distinction in politics from Hendrix College in 2011.
