Overview

Sander Vogt has experience in both contentious and noncontentious matters for clients in a variety of sectors, with particular emphasis on media and entertainment, fashion, architecture, and design and art, as well as technology and telecommunications. Sander works in multiple languages and focuses on the full range of intellectual property-related issues (including copyright, designs, trademarks, trade secrets, and patents). A graduate of Katholieke Universiteit Leuven and the University of Pennsylvania Law School, he worked in the litigation department of another international law firm in Brussels and at Crowell & Moring’s New York office before joining the intellectual property team in Brussels. Sander is also a part-time teaching assistant at the KU Leuven Centre for IT & IP Law.

  • Regularly assisted a major Belgian architectural lighting company in enforcing its intellectual property portfolio throughout and outside the EU, particularly regarding registered design rights and copyright infringements.
  • Represented a textile company in a major copyright case concerning copyright protection of traditional patterns.
  • Represented a well-known modern art curator in litigation against the organizer of an international art fair.
  • Advised a well-known Flemish museum on complex copyright questions concerning alterations to the aesthetic aspects of the museum’s interior organization.
  • Assisted in representing a nightclub in litigation against a collective management organization on licensing conditions and abuse of dominant position.
  • Assisted in representing a major music festival interest group in litigation against a collective management organization on licensing conditions and abuse of dominant position.
