Peter B. Work

Retired Partner

Peter B. Work is a retired partner who practiced with Crowell & Moring and predecessor firms beginning in 1968. He was one of Crowell & Moring's founders and was also a founder and co-chairman of the firm's Litigation Group.

Peter focused on business litigation, and his work was concentrated in the areas of commercial contracts, commercial torts, antitrust, government contracts, and matters arising under the False Claims Act. He had extensive experience in federal and state judicial forums at the trial and appellate levels and also extensive experience with various forms of alternative dispute resolution techniques, including minitrials, arbitrations, and mediations. In addition, Peter had considerable experience with administrative and regulatory litigation and with appeals from administrative and regulatory decisions.

Peter graduated from DePauw University (B.A.) in 1961 and the University of Chicago Law School (J.D.) in 1964. Following his graduation from law school and before satisfying a prior military commitment, Peter practiced with the Denver, Colorado law firm of Holme, Roberts & Owen. From 1965 through 1968, Peter served on active duty as an officer in the U.S. Marine Corps, including a tour in Vietnam.
