Noor Taj is a Litigation Group associate in Crowell & Moring’s Washington, D.C. office. She is experienced in various types of litigation, including class actions, domestic and international arbitrations, and appeals. Noor has represented clients in several prominent commercial disputes and at all stages of litigation—from pre-suit to post-trial and appeal—in state and federal court.
Noor earned her law degree from Temple University’s Beasley School of Law, where she received the Israel Packel Award for Distinguished Scholastic Performance for highest GPA of graduating students from the day division. Prior to joining Crowell & Moring, Noor served as a law clerk to Honorable William H. Yohn in the U.S. Court for the Eastern District of Pennsylvania and was then a litigation associate at a major law firm in Philadelphia.
- Obtained dismissal of direct and indirect purchaser class actions against a major truck manufacturer regarding alleged price fixing in the U.S. heavy duty transmission market.
- Obtained a favorable liability award in the first major case before the New Delhi branch of the London Court of International Arbitration-India (LCIA-I) concerning a real estate joint venture in India.
- Obtained a favorable settlement in a confidential mediation resolving a dispute arising out of the client’s acquisition of a Saudi Arabian telecommunications network.
- Obtained a favorable decision for the Defender Association of Philadelphia’s Federal Court Division (FCDO) in appeal before the Third Circuit in cases involving section 1442 removal proceedings to disqualify the FCDO from representing state indigent defendants in PCRA petitions in state court.
