Natalie O. Ludaway is a partner in the firm’s Washington, D.C. office and a member of its State Attorneys General and Litigation practices. With both government and private practice experience, Natalie approaches matters with a true appreciation for the complexities of the regulatory, enforcement, and litigation spaces. She counsels and represents clients in connection with investigations, enforcement matters, and litigation. Natalie also provides unique representation for clients engaged in matters with the government of the District of Columbia and the District of Columbia Council.

During her five years (2015-2020) as Chief Deputy of the Office of Attorney General (OAG) for the District of Columbia, Natalie oversaw multistate and single jurisdiction investigations, enforcement, and litigation matters in all areas of AG authority,  including consumer protection, antitrust, civil rights, privacy and cybersecurity, environmental, false claims, nonprofits, utilities, and wage misclassification claims. In this role, she collaborated with attorneys general and their senior staff throughout the United States, including with the bipartisan National Association of Attorneys General (NAAG) and its various committees. Natalie served on several NAAG committees, participated in setting the strategic direction of NAAG, presented at NAAG conferences, and received NAAG’s 2019 Senior Staff Member of the Year Award for her contributions to the organization and to attorneys general.

While at OAG, Natalie also managed the daily operations for its 10 legal divisions; participated in the development, management, and implementation of the Attorney General’s strategic initiatives and policies; and served as liaison with the executive, legislative, and local and federal judicial branches of the District of Columbia. Natalie also established and directed a robust Office of Consumer Protection and a Public Advocacy Division, units that regularly engage with corporations that conduct business in the United States. In addition to overseeing all defensive litigation, Natalie participated directly in litigation strategy, settlement negotiations, and mediations in the office’s most significant matters.

For nearly 20 years prior to joining OAG, Natalie maintained an active private practice focused on complex civil litigation, employment, and regulatory matters before D.C. courts and administrative agencies having been lead counsel in jury and bench trials, as well as in administrative hearings. She has also conducted investigations and advised boards of directors and senior leadership on allegations of improprieties, discrimination, sexual harassment, and internal organizational  matters.

Natalie has served for a decade as a member of the District’s Judicial Nomination Commission, which screens and recommends candidates for appointment as judges on the D.C. Superior Court and the D.C. Court of Appeals. She is a Board member of the Girl Scout Council of the Nation’s Capital and a member of the Match Group Advisory Council (MGAC). Natalie has received numerous recognitions for her contributions to the District of Columbia’s legal and business communities.
