Mena Gaballah is an associate in Crowell & Moring’s Washington, D.C. office. He is a member of the firm’s Intellectual Property Practice Group, where he provides full-service intellectual property counseling services to clients, with an emphasis in pharmaceutical, chemistry, biotechnology, and materials science technologies.

Mena received his J.D. from the University of Maryland School of Law in 2018. During his time in law school, Mena was a student attorney in the University of Maryland School of Law Intellectual Property and Entrepreneurship Clinic where he conducted patent and trademark clearance searches, filed trademark applications, and helped counsel on business formation issues. Mena was also a summer intern at the Food and Drug Administration where he served as liaison with key legislative staff preparing resource material for Congressional hearings. Mena graduated with a certificate in Healthcare from the nationally recognized Healthcare Law Program and wrote his graduation paper on the opioid epidemic. He was also a member of the Moot Court Board.

While attending law school, he was also enrolled at the University of Maryland School of Pharmacy. He graduated with a Doctor of Pharmacy in 2018. During pharmacy school, Mena’s experiential education sites included the University of Maryland R.  Adams Cowley Shock Trauma Center Multi-Trauma Intensive Care Unit, Union Memorial Hospital Cardiac Intensive Care Unit, Springfield Psychiatric Hospital, the Veterans Affairs Hospital in Baltimore, MD, and several independent and chain retail pharmacies. Mena is a published author in the Journal of Managed Care Pharmacy, as well as in Pharmacy Times and the Baltimore Sun.

Mena is registered to practice before the United States Patent and Trademark Office, a licensed pharmacist in the state of New Jersey, and is a member of the District of Columbia Bar. He graduated in 2012 from Monmouth University in New Jersey with a Bachelor’s of Science degree in Biology with a concentration in Molecular Cell Physiology.
