Madeline Obler is an associate in the Tax Group and resident in the firm’s Washington, D.C. office.

Madeline practices in the areas of federal tax controversy and litigation. Madeline represents clients involved in controversy with the IRS at all levels of the proceedings, including during examination, at appeals, and in litigation before the U.S. Tax Court. She also represents clients involved in tax issues before the Court of Federal Claims and U.S. District Courts.

Madeline is also passionate about pro bono and maintains an active pro bono practice primarily advising organizations in connection with obtaining tax-exempt status under section 501(c)(3) and related issues.

Madeline clerked for the Honorable John O. Colvin on the U.S. Tax Court from 2015-2016. She holds a J.D. from Elon University School of Law (magna cum laude) and an LL.M. in taxation from Georgetown University Law Center (with distinction).
