Louis Vanderdonckt is an associate in the Brussels office of Crowell & Moring, where he is a member of the firm’s Privacy & Cybersecurity Group. His practice focuses on privacy and data protection in the fields of telecommunications and payment services, as well as on the legal and operational aspects of upcoming technologies such as Distributed Ledger Technology (e.g. Blockchain) and the Internet of Things.

Prior to joining Crowell & Moring, Louis worked as an intern in a specialized data protection and IP law firm and as a junior legal counsel in the payment services industry.

Louis has experience in advising large IT corporations in the field of telecom and payment services on GDPR compliance issues.

Louis earned his master's degree in law at the University of Ghent in 2016. He also obtained a specialized LL.M. degree in intellectual property, media and ICT law, cum laude, at the K.U. Leuven in 2018. In the course thereof, he wrote a dissertation on the interplay between the GDPR and Distributed Ledger Technologies.

Louis is a Certified Information Privacy Professional/Europe (CIPP/E).

He is a native Dutch speaker, is fluent in English and French, and has a good understanding of Spanish.

Louis became a member of the Brussels bar in 2018.
