Joseph M. Oliver Jr.

Joseph M. Oliver, Jr. was a founding partner of Crowell & Moring and was a member of the firm's Energy Group.

He received a B.A. in 1967 from the University of Virginia and a law degree from the University of Georgia in 1970, where he was a member of the Georgia Law Review. Before beginning private practice, Joe served as a law clerk to the Honorable Linton Collins of the United States Court of Claims. Joe was a member of the bars of the State of Georgia and the District of Columbia.

His practice focused on the representation of natural gas and electric utilities in federal and state rate and service proceedings. He practiced extensively before the Federal Energy Regulatory Commission (FERC). He also founded and served as counsel to the East Coast National Gas Cooperative, a consortium of energy companies engaged in acquisition of natural gas systems.
