Joel Mallord is an associate in Crowell & Moring’s Los Angeles office and a member of the firm’s White Collar & Regulatory Enforcement and Antitrust groups. Joel represents corporate and individual clients in civil and criminal matters, including under the Sherman Act, False Claims Act, and anti-money laundering laws and regulations.
Before joining Crowell & Moring, Joel served as a law clerk to the Honorable Jacqueline H. Nguyen on the U.S. Court of Appeals for the Ninth Circuit and to the Honorable Andrew J. Guilford in the U.S. District Court for the Central District of California.
Joel graduated from the University of Pennsylvania Law School in 2014, where he served as the editor-in-chief of the University of Pennsylvania Law Review. As a participant in the law school’s appellate litigation externship program, he successfully conducted an appeal in the U.S. Court of Appeals for the Third Circuit on behalf of a developmentally disabled student seeking to enforce an administrative award under the Individuals with Disabilities Education Act. Before law school, Joel spent twelve years in the biotechnology industry.
