Hilary Johnson is a Mass Tort, Product, and Consumer Litigation associate in Crowell & Moring’s Washington, D.C. office. Hilary’s practice focuses on complex litigation for clients in the medical device, biotechnology, and agricultural industries. Her recent experience includes defending several companies, including a large medical device manufacturer and multinational agricultural biotechnology company, in multidistrict, multijurisdictional products liability litigation.
Hilary received her J.D. in 2015 from the University of Virginia School of Law. During law school, she was an executive editor of the Virginia Journal of Social Policy and the Law and a teaching assistant for the Legal Research and Writing Program. She also served as a law clerk at the American Cancer Society Cancer Action Network and a pro bono volunteer with the Legal Aid Justice Center. Following law school, Hilary clerked at the U.S. Court of Federal Claims, Office of Special Masters, the adjudicatory body for vaccine injury claims brought under the National Vaccine Injury Compensation Program.
Hilary graduated from Northwestern University with a B.A. in psychology in 2009 and worked as a clinical research assistant with the Yale University School of Medicine prior to attending law school.
