Grace Fleming is an associate in the firm’s Health Care Group.

Health Regulatory: Grace has experience working with health care payors and providers, advising on state and federal regulatory compliance, drafting agreements, and supporting corporate transactions.

Tax Exemption: Grace has experience in tax exemption, supporting organizations in formation, achieving tax-exempt status, and advising on governance.

Grace supports clients in navigating the Affordable Care Act and state health insurance regulatory schemes with her experience as a health insurance regulator providing a valuable lens on compliance. Grace has advised clients on the Sunshine Act, state open payments laws, and counseled clients on responses to privacy breaches. Grace has supported corporate transactions with broad experience in Stark and Anti-Kickback compliance reviews. In addition, Grace has assisted clients to build nonprofits from the ground up from writing articles of incorporation and applying for tax exemption to dissolution.

Grace received her B.A. in philosophy from New York University in 2010, where she graduated magna cum laude. She earned her J.D. from the University of Minnesota Law School, magna cum laude, and her M.A. in bioethics from the University of Minnesota in 2014. Before joining Crowell & Moring, Grace was an associate in a large international firm’s healthcare group in Minneapolis, served as a healthcare attorney to health insurance regulators at the Minnesota Department of Commerce, and worked as an attorney community organizer through Americorps and Equal Justice Works as an affordable housing advocate.
