Eric Gressler is an associate attorney in Crowell & Moring’s Los Angeles office and is a member of the firm’s Litigation Group. His practice focuses on commercial litigation, including unfair competition litigation, business torts, trade secret litigation, and contractual disputes. Eric’s practice includes representing both plaintiffs and defendants in state and federal courts, as well as in arbitrations and mediations.

Engagements

Eric’s experience includes representing:

  • A satellite multi-channel video programming distributor in lawsuits brought in New York, Colorado, and California by a studio, a pay television content provider, and a basic cable content provider for copyright infringement, breach of contract, interference with contract, and unfair competition.
  • A satellite multichannel video programming distributor in an arbitration proceeding with a pay television content provider regarding contractual indemnity obligations.
  • An aircraft finance company in a lawsuit brought by a buyer alleging fraud and unfair competition.
  • An individual in an arbitration proceeding against a wealth management company relating to management fees.
  • A bank in a breach of contract lawsuit brought in California state court involving conversion of mortgages arising out of mortgage fraud. 
  • An individual in multi-state litigation regarding alleged theft of trade secrets, unfair competition and wrongful termination in violation of public policy.
  • A large international payment processor in litigation brought against it, an online auction website, and several individuals for violations of civil RICO based upon the sale of counterfeit goods.
  • A large government-owned building materials manufacturer in MDL class action proceedings regarding allegedly defective building materials imported into the United States.
  • A savings and loan in unfair competition class action proceedings in California state court, federal bankruptcy court, and the California Court of Appeal alleging violations of usury laws.
  • A computer printer manufacturer in a nationwide class action alleging fraud and unfair competition.
  • A property owner in pre-litigation negotiations with a developer regarding undisclosed encumbrances and municipal proceedings regarding the property.
