Donald D. Evenson is a retired partner in Crowell & Moring's Washington, D.C. office. Donald earned a B.A.E. in aeronautical engineering from the University of Minnesota Institute of Technology,
from which he graduated in 1963, and an L.L.B. degree from the
University of Minnesota, awarded in 1966. Following two years' experience
as an engineer for McDonnell Douglas Corporation in St. Louis, Missouri,
and a three-year term as a patent examiner in the U.S. Patent Office,
Donald entered private practice in the field of intellectual property law in
Washington, D.C. in 1971.
In addition to extensive experience in the
preparation and prosecution of patent and trademark applications,
Donald's practice also extended to commercial civil litigation of patents,
other intellectual property, international trade, and related matters in the
federal courts and before federal administrative agencies, including the
U.S. International Trade Commission. He was registered to practice before
the U.S. Patent and Trademark Office and was a member of the bars of the
District of Columbia and Minnesota, as well as the bars of the Court of
International Trade, the U.S. Court of Appeals for the Federal Circuit, and
various other federal courts. He was also a member of the International
Association for the Protection of Industrial Property, the American Bar
Association, the German American Law Association, and the German VPP.
