Danielle Winston is an associate in Crowell & Moring’s Washington, D.C. office, where she practices in the Corporate Group. Danielle’s practice focuses on mergers and acquisitions and representation of accelerator programs as well as emerging companies. Danielle has experience with transactions in various industries, including health care, packaging, cybersecurity, and software services.

Danielle acts as a trusted strategic advisor and problem solver who advises clients on sensitive and crucial matters. Danielle routinely serves as outside general counsel to clients, assisting them with mergers and acquisitions, joint ventures, risk management, fundraising, and corporate governance issues.

Representative Matters

  • Advised Paladin Healthcare Capital, a Los Angeles-based private equity firm, in the purchase of Hahnemann University Hospital and St. Christopher’s Hospital for Children in Philadelphia from Tenet Healthcare Corporation for $170 million, as well as affiliated physician group practices and other related healthcare entities.
  • Advised the Virginia Center for Innovative Technology in connection with the ongoing operation of MACH37™, America's premier market-centric cybersecurity accelerator. The Accelerator is designed to facilitate the creation of the next generation of cybersecurity product companies through an intensive 90-day program created to launch cyber startups. MACH37™'s unique program design places heavy emphasis on the validation of product ideas and the development of relationships that produce an initial customer base and investment capital.

Danielle also maintains an active pro bono practice. She currently represents a client seeking asylum in the U.S. after fleeing persecution based on the client’s sexual orientation.

Danielle received her J.D. from Georgetown University Law School, where she served as an executive editor on the American Criminal Law Review.  She also participated in the Georgetown Criminal Justice Clinic as a student attorney.

Danielle is fluent in French and proficient in Italian.
