Cherie Walterman is a senior international trade analyst in Crowell & Moring’s Washington, D.C. office. Cherie provides practice support to the International Trade Group in a wide range of trade remedy matters including antidumping (AD) and countervailing duty (CVD) investigations, administrative reviews, sunset reviews, and changed circumstance reviews before the Department of Commerce and International Trade Commission. 

She also supports group attorneys in preparing exclusion requests and providing related advice for products that are affected by the global tariffs on steel and aluminum imports pursuant to Section 232 of the Trade Expansion Act of 1962. Additionally, Cherie works closely with attorneys developing courses of action for clients impacted by the investigation of the Government of China pursuant to Section 301 of the Trade Act of 1974.

Cherie has extensive experience conducting economic analyses of company issues, and assisting attorneys and multi-national corporations on trade remedies, entry-and-clearing of goods into the U.S., and dispute settlements for manufacturing, energy, and national security goods.

Prior to joining Crowell & Moring, Cherie was an international trade research specialist at a Washington, D.C.-based law firm. Before that, she completed three internships related to international affairs and trade policy. Cherie lived and worked in Shanghai, China where she studied international business law and interned as an outbound investment consultancy analyst at Paragon Partners Asia. She also worked as a government affairs intern at the Organization for International Investment, and as a global trade policy intern at the Semiconductor Industry Association.
