Brian McGrath is an associate in Crowell & Moring’s New York office and a member of the firm’s International Trade and Antitrust & Competition groups. Brian’s international trade practice focuses on economic sanctions administered by the Department of Treasury’s Office of Foreign Assets Control (OFAC), export controls administered by the Department of Commerce, and antiboycott regimes. His antitrust practice focuses on representing Fortune 500 companies from various industries in complex antitrust and commercial litigation. Brian also represents clients in trademark proceedings in front of the Trademark Trial and Appeal Board (TTAB). Brian maintains an active pro bono practice, representing clients in immigration proceedings and veterans’ benefits and appeals cases.
Brian received his J.D. from Rutgers Law School in 2018, where he graduated cum laude and was the recipient of the Rutgers Academic Achievement Award for Excellence in Administrative Law. He was the notes editor for the Rutgers Law Record and served as a clinical law student in the Rutgers Child Advocacy Clinic, where he represented clients seeking Supplemental Security Income as well as serving as law guardian for children in Family Court proceedings. While in law school, Brian worked at a non-profit organization in New York City helping to represent low-income families of students seeking special education services. He also worked as a law clerk for a boutique employment litigation firm and for a solo practitioner civil rights litigator.
Prior to joining Crowell & Moring, Brian worked as a social studies teacher at public schools in New Jersey and as an English teacher at private schools in Santiago, Chile. He received his B.A. in history and secondary education and his M.Ed. in educational leadership/instruction from The College of New Jersey.
