Barry Nemmers is a senior counsel in Crowell & Moring's New York office and a member of the International Trade Group. Barry has a broad international and regulatory practice, having spent substantial time in-house with one of the largest multinational software firms in the world. Barry’s responsibilities included trade, antitrust, and government affairs. He led efforts within the company in compliance and investigations. In private practice, Barry was an accomplished customs lawyer.

Barry received his A.B. from Grinnell in 1968 and his J.D. from Georgetown in 1976, where he was an editor of Law & Policy in International Business. He was a staff attorney for the American Association of Exporters and Importers (AAEI) from 1976 – 1982, when he joined Graham & James in its Customs and International Trade Group; he left Graham & James to join Chadbourne and Parke in 1994. He joined SAP America as assistant general counsel in 1998, where he worked until retirement at the end of 2015. He is admitted in New York. He served on the AAEI Board from 1994 – 2002 and on the Board of CITBA for two years.
