This is presented by The American Bar Association Criminal Justice Section White Collar Crime Committee’s Young Lawyers Subcommittee, Securities Fraud Subcommittee, and the Washington, D.C. Region Subcommittee.

This panel will feature representatives from the Fraud Section of DOJ’s Criminal Division, the SEC’s Enforcement Division, and the white collar defense bar discussing recent developments in the area of criminal and civil enforcement. Topics will include initiatives at both agencies relating to the investigation and litigation of alleged mortgage-backed securities fraud, Foreign Corrupt Practices Act violations, and more.

The speakers are Anjali Chaturvedi, Nixon Peabody LLP, Scott Friestad, Associate Director and Special Assistant to the Director, Division of Enforcement of the Securities and Exchange Commission, Paul E. Pelletier, Principal Deputy Chief, Fraud Section, Criminal Division of the Department of Justice [due to a case emergency Assistant Chief Adam Safwat showed up] and David Z.
