FAQ: Benefits for Health Care Professionals - The Law in Belgium

Crowell & Moring LLP is pleased to announce the publication of FAQ: Benefits for Health Care Professionals - The Law in Belgium.

Under Belgian law, there is a general prohibition on gifts and benefits to health care professionals who supply, prescribe, dispense or administer medicinal products or medical devices. The aim of the prohibition is to prevent health care professionals from being inappropriately influenced. But not every form of promotion is forbidden; there are a number of permitted exceptions.

So what counts as a gift or benefit? Can you sponsor an event and under what conditions? And what about business lunches? Or the provision of free samples?

Crowell & Moring LLP is pleased to offer you a booklet that will guide you through this tricky area and answer these and other frequently asked questions. It will help you to understand the legal requirements while allowing you to take a pragmatic approach and make the most of the possibilities that exist in the best interests of your company.

This booklet is not exhaustive. If you have any further questions, please don’t hesitate to contact Kristof Roox (partner).

A link to download the booklet is coming soon.
