California Lawyers Association Appoints Crowell & Moring Counsel Robert McNary to Antitrust, UCL & Privacy Executive Committee

Los Angeles – September 25, 2018: Crowell & Moring is pleased to announce that Robert McNary, a Los Angeles-based counsel in the firm’s global Antitrust Group, has been appointed to the executive committee of the California Lawyers Association Antitrust, Unfair Competition Law & Privacy Section.

Previously the Sections of the State Bar of California, the CLA is dedicated to the professional advancement of lawyers practicing in the state of California, with more than 60,000 attorney members. The Antitrust, UCL & Privacy Section furthers knowledge of its over 1,000 members on antitrust, unfair competition, and privacy issues through its publications and events, including the annual Golden State Antitrust, UCL and Privacy Law Institute. Previous members of the Executive Committee include multiple distinguished former Antitrust Lawyers of the Year as well as California-based officials of the Department of Justice and Federal Trade Commission.

McNary has litigated antitrust, IP, and complex commercial litigation disputes for plaintiffs and defendants for a decade. He has litigated multiple cases for leading global technology companies in antitrust litigation, including collusion and monopolization cases. He has also represented a global mobile telecommunications technology company in antitrust and licensing litigation over standards-essential patents.

McNary is a vice chair of the American Bar Association Section of Antitrust Law Economics Committee and co-author of multiple ABA Antitrust Section publications. He has served as an articles editor for the CLA Antitrust Section’s official journal, Competition, and as a chapter co-author of the California State Antitrust Treatise annual updates. He is a past chair of the Los Angeles County Bar Association Antitrust and Unfair Business Practices Section. Before his legal career, he was a research analyst for the nonprofit National Bureau of Economic Research and an analyst at J.P. Morgan.
