Latinvex Names Crowell & Moring’s Mariana Pendas to "Top 100 Female Lawyers" List

Washington – May 29, 2019: Mariana Pendas has been recognized by Latinvex as one of Latin America’s “Top 100 Female Lawyers.” Specifically, Pendas was recognized as one of the two female lawyers in the category of Trade. She was also recognized in the category of Arbitration and Litigation. The list features 100 female lawyers from top international firms who focus on Latin America.

Pendas, a member of the firm’s International Trade Group, is qualified to practice both in Spain and New York and is admitted to practice under the Brussels E List. Her specialty is helping clients comply with U.S. and EU economic sanctions, anti-money laundering, export controls, anti- bribery/anti-corruption, and international dispute resolution. Latinvex highlighted her recent experience assisting U.S. clients regarding exploration of the Cuban market in compliance with U.S. sanctions and advising on other aspects of U.S. Venezuelan sanctions. Pendas maintains an active pro bono practice where she is advising a nonprofit advancing the performing arts in Cuba.

The list features 100 lawyers from 61 firms based in the United States, the United Kingdom, Canada, the Cayman Islands, and British Virgin Islands. Selections were made based on individuals’ recent track record on major deals and business, the firm’s prominence in Latin America, and recognition from third parties, including Chambers and Partners and the Legal 500.
