The AIPLA believes in a strong patent system both domestically and internationally and we will continue to work with leaders here and abroad to achieve economic benefit," said Rea.

"Terry is one of the great leaders in the field of intellectual property law. I have known and enjoyed working with her for over a decade and have always appreciated her innovative work as our careers have crossed paths. Her commitment to, and strong background in, the field of intellectual property will help advance the mission of AIPLA in meaningful ways and I look forward to working with her in her new role as AIPLA president," said Q. Todd Dickinson, Executive Director of AIPLA and former Under Secretary of Commerce for Intellectual Property and Director of the United States Patent and Trademark Office (USPTO).
