Washington, D.C. – October 10, 2016: The DC Appleseed Center for Law & Justice has recognized Crowell & Moring LLP for its pro bono contributions to its workforce development project. The firm, along with the other honorees, was recognized at a September 22 reception in Washington for helping to "Build a Better D.C. For All."

Crowell & Moring's "Appleseed Team" includes partners Todd D. Rosenberg and Peter J. Eyre, senior counsel Mark Kass, and associates Nkechi A. Kanu and Jonathan Nesher.

Established in 1993, DC Appleseed solves problems affecting the daily lives of those who live and work in the National Capital area. The organization works with volunteer lawyers, business leaders, and community experts to identify pressing challenges, conduct research and analysis, make specific recommendations for reform, and implement effective solutions.

Crowell & Moring's pro bono practice handles a broad range of pro bono matters, particularly children's rights/family law, immigration, and criminal justice. The firm also handles countless other types of pro bono matters referred by local nonprofit organizations and, on occasion, its own lawyers. More than 20 years ago, Crowell & Moring was the first DC-based firm to elect a full-time public service partner and has twice been honored as Pro Bono Firm of the Year in Washington. Today, the firm's lawyers contribute more than 35,000 hours in pro bono legal services annually to the indigent and suffering in local communities and around the world.

Crowell & Moring LLP is an international law firm with approximately 500 lawyers representing clients in litigation and arbitration, regulatory, and transactional matters. The firm is internationally recognized for its representation of Fortune 500 companies in high-stakes litigation, as well as its ongoing commitment to pro bono service and diversity. The firm has offices in Washington, DC, New York, Los Angeles, San Francisco, Orange County, Anchorage, London, and Brussels.
