Crowell & Moring’s Paul Rosen Named a Fall Fellow of The Homeland Security Project at Harvard Kennedy School’s Belfer Center for Science and International Affairs

Washington – September 18, 2017: Crowell & Moring LLP is pleased to announce that Paul M. Rosen, a partner in the firm's White Collar & Regulatory Enforcement, Privacy & Cybersecurity, and Government Contracts groups, and former Chief of Staff at the Department of Homeland Security (DHS), has been named among the six 2017 Fall Fellows of The Homeland Security Project, an initiative of Harvard Kennedy School's Belfer Center for Science and International Affairs.

Led by Belfer Lecturer in International Security and former DHS Assistant Secretary Juliette Kayyem, the Homeland Security Project focuses on the unique challenges and choices around protecting the American homeland. The caliber of the fellows recruited exemplifies the Belfer Center's role as a hub for scholars and practitioners to address critical challenges. Jeh Johnson, former Secretary of Homeland Security, will serve as a Senior Fellow. Additional members of the class include: Alan Bersin, former DHS Assistant Secretary for International Affairs and Chief Diplomatic Officer; Lisa Monaco, former United States Homeland Security Advisor and Chief of Counterterrorism; Matt Olsen, former Director of the National Counterterrorism Center; and Jackie Rice, Executive Vice President and Chief Risk and Compliance Officer for the Target Corporation.

Rosen, who joined the firm in May 2017, is also a former federal prosecutor with more than a decade of experience working across all three branches of the federal government. He held senior executive positions in the Obama Administration at DHS and the Department of Justice, including DHS Deputy Chief of Staff and Senior Counselor, and Chief of Staff at U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement. Rosen also served for more than four years at the Justice Department, including as a Trial Attorney in the Criminal Fraud Section, and as a Special Assistant United States Attorney in the Eastern District of Virginia. Prior to his service at the Justice Department, Rosen served as Counsel to then-Senator Joseph R. Biden on the Senate Judiciary Committee.

At Crowell & Moring, Rosen represents corporate and individual clients in connection with white collar criminal defense and government investigations, cybersecurity and crisis management.
