Crowell & Moring Partner Shari Ross Lahlou Named a National Law Journal Antitrust/M&A Trailblazer
Washington, D.C. – September 27, 2016: Crowell & Moring LLP is pleased to announce that Washington, D.C.-based antitrust partner Shari Ross Lahlou has been named to the National Law Journal’s 2016 list of Mergers & Acquisitions and Antitrust Trailblazers. The series recognizes attorneys who have moved the needle and made a significant impact in mergers & acquisitions and antitrust law.
The National Law Journal notes Lahlou’s work in a variety of cases, from cartel matters to merger challenges, including representation of AT&T Inc. in a challenge to its merger with T-Mobile. The publication also recognized her work to secure summary judgment for Owens & Minor in a bundling claim brought against two defendants by Suture Express, as well as in a separate case for E.I. du Pont de Nemours and Company (DuPont) in Delaware. Lahlou comments of the DuPont case, “We had an uphill battle with a negative judgment on the books. So we had to present an argument on why we should win, and why we should have won the first case.”
Looking ahead, Lahlou says she expects to see “more cases like Suture Express, when they turn to the courts for relief when they can’t compete as they’d like.”
