Washington – November 30, 2020: Three members of Crowell & Moring’s International Dispute Resolutions Group will participate in panels in Washington Arbitration Week 2020, a newly launched forum in international arbitration for the Washington, D.C. legal community and the international and foreign community connected to it.

Ian A. Laird, who co-founded WAW and serves as co-chair of Crowell & Moring’s International Dispute Resolution Group, will participate in a December 2 panel titled “Fossil Fuel, Clean Energy and the Environment in International Arbitration.” The panel will include discussion of environmental concerns, regulations, and exceptions that have an impact in the energy sector worldwide, as well as the effect clean energy has had in the rise of investment and commercial disputes.

Laird and partner Meagan T. Bachman, who joined the firm in October, will participate in a December 4 panel titled “Infrastructure Disputes in International Arbitration,” which will provide insight on the challenges that infrastructure megaprojects pose on international arbitration.

Counsel Ashley R. Riveira opened the week speaking on a November 30 panel, “Women in International Arbitration,” that focused on the progress that women have made by playing significant roles in international law and arbitration, as well as the initiatives taken to promote and strengthen the role of women in the field.

WAW will further advance the analysis and discussion of developments reflected in arbitral awards, treaties, and international instruments at the forefront of international arbitration. To learn more and register for panels, visit www.washingtonarbitrationweek.com.
