Washington, D.C. - September 3, 2008: Crowell & Moring LLP is pleased to announce that Olivier N. Antoine has joined its New York office as a counsel in the firm's Antitrust Group. Antoine joins from Simpson Thacher & Bartlett LLP, where he focused on merger and acquisitions and domestic and international antitrust matters. He has represented companies in investigations and mergers in more than 20 jurisdictions and helps expand the international capabilities of Crowell & Moring's growing Antitrust Group.

"Olivier is the perfect complement to our Antitrust Group, both in New York and internationally. He offers clients a wealth of experience on both the U.S. and international levels. His extensive experience in cartel proceedings and difficult merger investigations before U.S. regulators and the European Commission is a valuable resource for our clients," said Wm. Randolph Smith, chair of the Crowell & Moring's Antitrust Group.

Antoine regularly represents clients in significant merger investigations before the Federal Trade Commission (FTC), the Department of Justice (DOJ), the European Commission and other foreign antitrust agencies. He also has significant cartel experience before both domestic and international antitrust agencies.

"Crowell & Moring offers clients a premier Antitrust Group with a strong and growing international presence. I am excited to be working with a group of talented attorneys, and I am particularly looking forward to growing the practice's New York capabilities as we expand our office here," Antoine said.

A member of the New York State Bar, Antoine serves as chair of the International Antitrust and Competition Law Committee of the International Law and Practice (ILP) Section of the New York State Bar Association, and also serves as a member of the legal committee of the Board of the Lycée Français de New York , and has written and spoken extensively on a range of antitrust topics. He received a Maitrise en droit , (J.D.), cum laude, valedictorian, from the University of Paris I, Panthéon-Sorbonne, a Diplome D'Etudes Approfondies, (LL.M) cum laude, from the University of Paris I, Panthéon-Sorbonne, and an LL.M, cum laude, from Fordham University School of Law in 1999.

Crowell & Moring's Antitrust Group represents a range of clients from established Fortune 50 corporations to start-up companies in emerging industries. The group's practice includes the full complement of antitrust matters: civil and criminal litigation and investigations; mergers and acquisitions; and counseling clients on ways to manage antitrust risks. Antoine's move comes on the heels of significant growth in the firm's Antitrust Group in both its U.S. offices and European offices. The group recently added Brussels-based counsel Sean-Paul Brankin, a former Legal Director for the United Kingdom's Office of Fair Trading who focuses his practice on UK and EU merger control, as well as FTC veteran Christine White and former DOJ prosecutor Dan Zelenko, both as partners in New York.

Crowell & Moring LLP is an international law firm with more than 400 lawyers practicing in litigation, antitrust, government contracts, corporate, intellectual property and a variety of other practice areas. Crowell & Moring's extensive client work ranges from advising on one of the world's largest telecommunications mergers to representing governments and corporations on international arbitration matters.
