Senate Panel Urged To Ease Stark Law Bans On Physician Compensation Schemes

Stakeholders told Senate Finance members Tuesday (July 12) that if the committee doesn't repeal the Stark physician referral law -- which some view as unnecessary in a pay-for-value system -- it should at least consider repealing the ban on physician compensation arrangements. Committee Chair Orrin Hatch (R-UT) said the committee would try to do something to address the issue before the end of the year.
