WEBINAR: Beyond the First Year - Regulation in the Trump Era

February 28, 2018 • Webinar

Starts: 11:00 AM (EST)
Ends: 12:30 PM (EST)

The election of Donald Trump and Republican majorities in both houses of Congress in November 2016 has meant both new opportunities and new uncertainties for business. Over the past year, Crowell & Moring’s “Trump the First Year” program focused on the Administration’s goals and its ability to translate its deregulatory and “America First” agenda into concrete actions.

In some areas – tax policy and rolling back environmental regulation among them – the Administration has had some successes. In others, competing forces – such as Congress’s inability to act, and the federal courts’ oversight – have stymied its efforts. With 2018 upon us, the mid-term elections and the regulatory clock become factors. What can the Administration do before those mid-terms potentially change the political calculus? What regulations can the Administration issue before court calendars make their legal defense during this Administration unlikely?

In this webinar, our team of policy advisors and former regulators offer insight on these and other questions about what is likely to be in store for 2018 – both in Congress and in the federal Executive Branch. Program attendees will also receive a preview of Crowell & Moring’s fourth annual Regulatory Forecast, which offers in-depth analyses on a range of federal regulatory issues affecting U.S. and international businesses.
