SFIA - Business Decisions to Recall: New CPSC Expectations and How to Meet Them
October 23, 2014
Starts: 2:00 PM (EDT)
Ends: 3:00 PM (EDT)
The U.S. CPSC has sparked a storm of activity by its consideration of new rules for Voluntary Product Recalls. Within the last year, more and more companies have become increasingly aware & concerned with the imminent CPSC Voluntary Product Recall process, that will place significant burdens on manufacturers, and the uncertainties that these changes will mean to their bottom line.
These provisions, now under consideration, include the ability of the CPSC to examine internal company operations and dictate procedures to be followed by company employees. While cooperation in recalls may have been a sound tactic in the past, where will the lines be driven now? Companies are now faced with tough choices brought on by the increased penalties and less protection for trade secrets and confidential business information.
