ACC America Roundtable Lunch--Southern California
February 27, 2008
Costa Mesa, CA
A Crowell & Moring presentation on “Doing Business Around the Globe: the Crossroads of Intellectual Property and International Trade.” The protection and enforcement of IPR in the global marketplace is increasingly being governed by international trade treaties such as the WTO TRIPS Agreement, as well as the burgeoning number of bilateral and multilateral free trade agreements. Commitments to protect and enforce IPR are also being incorporated in bilateral investment treaties and other trade measures. Finally, the use of Section 337 has become a trade tool to stop the importation of infringing products into the U.S. market.
This presentation will discuss how to navigate the complex matrix of IPR protection standards and obligations established in the various trade treaties, as well as how to use these and other trade policy tools to protect and manage your IP assets in the global marketplace.
