5th Latin-American Arbitration Conference
April 28 - 29, 2011
The Fifth Latin-American Arbitration Conference will take place in Lima on April 28 and 29, 2011. This year the conference organized by the Peruvian Arbitration Institute and the Lima Chamber of Commerce with support of the International Chamber of Commerce will address the issue of the Role of Arbitrators and Counsel in Arbitration.
This two-day conference assembles international arbitration practitioners from all over the region, and U.S. and Europe practitioners focused on Latin-American arbitration. Henry Burnett will participate in a panel on the issue of whether interviews to arbitrator candidates should be allowed as part of the process of selecting party-appointed arbitrators. Other members in the panel are José Daniel Amado (Miranda & Amado – Perú), Manuel Conthe (Bird & Bird – Spain), Judd L. Kessler (Porter, Wright, Morris & Arthur – U.S.), Fabiola Medina (Medina & Rizek – Dominican Republic), and Fernando Peláez-Pier (Hoet Peláez Castillo & Duque – Venezuela).
