Federal Consumer Protection Turns Blue

February 24, 2021 • Webinar

Starts: 12:00 PM (EST)
Ends: 1:00 PM (EST)

The balance of power at the FTC, FCC and CFPB is shifting with the new administration. This may bring different consumer protection enforcement priorities. In this seminar, we will offer predictions about what to expect in the next two years as these changes take place. Panelists will discuss:

  • How will the new democratic majority at the FTC alter consumer protection enforcement priorities and strategies, if at all? What might a Supreme Court ruling striking down the FTC restitution policies under Section 13(b) mean to agency enforcement?
  • Will privacy and data security again dominate the FTC agenda? If so, what can we expect?
  • Will the FCC turn 180 degrees yet again by reinstituting net neutrality? Can it? And, if so, what might that mean for the Internet?
  • Will the CFPB roar back to life with new and aggressive enforcement in the consumer financial arena?
