Competition Law in Times of Price Increases and Supply Shortages

December 7, 2021 • Webinar

Starts: 12:00 PM (CET)
Ends: 2:00 PM (CET)

In Collaboration with IBJ/IJE

Many sectors are currently facing supply shortages and price increases for inputs. Companies are looking for strategies to tackle these issues and maintain profitability. However, in doing so, they have to be careful not to fall foul of competition rules.

In this webinar, Crowell & Moring lawyers Karel Bourgeois and Karl Stas will cover competition law do’s and don’ts in this context. They will cover various aspects including collusion (e.g. how to communicate about price increases), abuse of dominance, abuse of economic dependence, as well as the Belgian Competition Authority’s powers in relation to “abnormal” price evolutions.

They will also discuss the return of dawn raids, drawing on recent direct experience with unannounced inspections by both the European Commission and national competition authorities.
