The ACAMS Law Enforcement Seminar is returning in 2023 as a convening platform to continue supporting Law Enforcement professionals who are on the front lines in the fight to end financial crime. On March 28-29, 2023, the ACAMS Law Enforcement Seminar will feature top experts, who will authoritatively analyze emerging threats and explore best practices to combat increasingly sophisticated financial crimes while enhancing investigative outcomes by strengthening alliances with other agencies and private sector anti-financial crime peers.
Senior Counsel, Michael Gunnison, will be speaking on the panel, "Strength in Synergy: Collaboration and Information Sharing Across Domestic and International Agencies." The session will discuss the following:
- Understanding legal challenges and overcoming information exchange hurdles between countries by establishing a framework and working within the requirements of an established MLAT or other established legal agreements
- Dealing with sensitivities around the political climate, timing and environment and identifying the right foreign country representative.
- Reviewing lessons learned from complex international cases to develop best practices for effective inter-agency collaboration
