ACC - "How Would Your CEO Do on the Stand?"

April 29, 2015 • San Francisco, CA

Starts: 11:30 AM (PDT)
Ends: 1:30 PM (PDT)
Site: Epic Roasthouse
Address: 369 The Embarcadero, San Francisco, CA

Testimony of company executives in deposition or at trial can be a tricky business. Whether you are a plaintiff or defendant in the suit, whether your legal team is on offense or defense, how the executives perform while testifying can make or break your case - and often has. When the matter is going to trial, whether it is a merger gone bad, a breach of fiduciary duty matter or a dispute over a major contract, when executives are called to testify, or you choose to put them on the stand, you and your legal team may lose sleep without proper preparation.

At this lunch you will hear from an experienced defense lawyer, who has defended and examined dozens of executives in deposition and at trial, what factors should play into your decision to put your executives on the witness stand, when and how to use the Apex Doctrine to keep them off the stand, and how to best prepare them to be star witnesses and win over judges and juries. You will hear some cautionary tales about how executives can, if improperly prepared, bring a case down, as well as tips on using an executive's testimony effectively.
