Trina L. Fairley is a partner in the firm's Washington, DC office. Ms. Fairley represents a range of businesses, including major healthcare organizations, high tech companies, banks, intellectual property firms, universities and national real estate companies in a broad range of employment and complex commercial litigation disputes. She has successfully handled cases in all phases of litigation before federal and state courts, administrative agencies and various other tribunals.

In her employment practice, Ms. Fairley has represented and advised employers on virtually every federal employment discrimination law and on numerous other state and federal laws that regulate the employment relationship. In addition, she has successfully litigated cases involving breach of employment, non-competition and confidentiality agreements. Ms. Fairley has obtained injunctive relief in courts across the country against former employees who have wrongfully used their former employers' confidential and proprietary business information for the benefit of a new employer. Ms. Fairley also routinely advises employers on the implementation and enforcement of personnel policies and procedures. In particular, she has conducted a nationwide employment practices audit for an international company and provided critical advice to bring its employment policies in compliance with applicable law. Moreover, Ms. Fairley frequently advises employers on a range of employee benefits issues.

In her commercial litigation practice, Ms. Fairley has litigated multi-million dollar cases involving matters ranging from patent infringement disputes, to antitrust claims, to cases involving breach of asset purchase agreements. As an instructor, Ms. Fairley has taught continuing legal education on employment law topics specifically geared to address concerns faced by high tech companies, as well as a twelve week seminar for non-lawyer professionals.

Ms. Fairley received her Bachelor of Arts degree in May 1993 from the University of Virginia, where she received a four-year scholarship based on academic achievement and community service. In 1996, she earned her Juris Doctor from George Washington University Law School. While in law school, Ms. Fairley was an active participant in Moot Court, the Civil Litigation Clinic and the Alternative Dispute Resolution Board.

Ms. Fairley is a member of the District of Columbia, Maryland, and Texas State Bars. She is also licensed to practice before the United States Court of Appeals for the District of Columbia Circuit, the United States District Court for the District of Columbia, the United States District Court for the District of Maryland and the United States District Court for the Northern District of Texas.
