Paul Behrends is a senior policy advisor with Crowell & Moring's Public Policy Practice Group. He develops overseas business for Crowell & Moring LLP and runs his own public affairs practice focusing on international security affairs. Mr. Behrends has over 18 years of senior public policy expertise in international politics and business. From 1990 - 1997, he worked as personal office staff in the House of Representatives and also participated in overseas policy development and investigative missions for the House Committee on International Relations. He retired as a Marine Lieutenant Colonel in 2005 with over 24 years of service. Mr. Behrends is a former Member of Inter-American Defense Board, has participated in exchange programs with the British Royal Marines and attended the U.S. Marine Command and Staff College. He received a Master's Degree from the Paul Nitze School of Advanced International Studies ( SAIS) at the Johns Hopkins University; a Diploma from Harvard University's Kennedy School of Government Program for Senior Managers in Government; and has an undergraduate degree in Business Management from Xavier University in Cincinnati, Ohio.
