Jessica A. Hall joined Crowell & Moring's Washington, D.C. office as an associate in 2005. Her practice involves environmental and natural resource law, with a special focus on climate change. She litigates tort cases involving greenhouse gases and advises clients on existing and emerging regulatory requirements relating to climate change.
Jessica has experience litigating Clean Air Act and environmental tort cases and in arbitrating disputes arising under the North American Free Trade Agreement. She recently concluded a bench trial involving the first of its kind citizen-suit under the Endangered Species Act against a wind power Facility. She also has an interest and growing expertise in the emerging area of nanotechnology law. Jessica's active pro bono practice has included testifying before the D.C. Council on proposed legislation, authoring a successful amicus brief filed in the U.S. Supreme Court, and assisting a refugee from Africa obtain asylum in the United States.
Jessica earned her B.S. from the Massachusetts Institute of Technology, where she graduated Phi Beta Kappa. She is a graduate of the University of Chicago Law School, where she also devoted time to the Mandel Legal Aid Clinic, advocating on behalf of persons experiencing employment discrimination. While in law school, she interned in the appellate office of the U.S. Department of Justice, Environmental and Natural Resources Division. Prior to coming to Crowell & Moring, Jessica worked as an assistant to Judge Abner J. Mikva, former chief judge for the U.S. Court of Appeals for the D.C. Circuit.
Jessica is an avid tennis player and scuba diver.
