Gaela Bailey is an independent contractor who provides privacy-related services to Crowell & Moring clients. Gaela was educated at the University of Wales in Cardiff and Nottingham Law School.
Gaela provides corporate and commercial advice to a wide variety of clients. She has expertise in drafting and negotiating a broad range of commercial and corporate contracts including shareholder agreements, asset transfer agreements, outsourcing arrangements, license agreements, supply agreements, agency and distribution agreements and standard terms and conditions of sale.
Gaela has assisted a large number of multinational companies in the adoption and implementation of regional and global compliance programmes, designed to achieve and maintain compliance with applicable data protection laws in EMEA, CALA, North America and Asia-Pac. Our privacy group has developed and utilised a comprehensive suite of compliance materials for this purpose, including; audit questionnaires, corporate privacy policies and procedures, internet privacy statements, guidance for human resources personnel, retention policies, model clauses for employment and vendor contracts, contracts for cross border transfers of data, guidance for auditors and versatile employee training packages for attorneys, human resources personnel, managers, sales staff and auditors. Gaela has also assisted corporations with notifications to national data protection authorities and registration under the U.S. Department of Commerce’s Safe Harbor scheme.
Gaela is admitted as a solicitor in England and Wales and is a member of the New York State bar.
