Our London office provides real estate expertise primarily to our corporate clients in connection with their UK property requirements.
We draft and advise upon a wide range of documentation relating to the acquisition, disposal, development and management of properties in England and Wales.
Many clients will lease, rather than buy, their property, and we also negotiate the detail of lease documentation and advise our clients of the implications of the provisions of leases, in the context of the complexity of the local law relating to the landlord and tenant relationship. Statutory provisions play a large part in the leasing of commercial real estate, and we seek to combine an understanding of these factors with commercial experience of the negotiating process.
We work closely with our clients’ other professional advisers, such as their professional surveyors, real estate brokers, and accountants, and where circumstances require, we will liaise with other specialists, in areas such as Town and Country Planning, environmental issues and construction.
Our London office has considerable experience of representing US businesses in connection with UK real estate, and helping them to understand the nature of the issues that they will encounter.
