Our legislative team, which is based in Brussels, is ideally positioned to participate in the development of policy initiatives within the European Commission, the European Parliament and at the national level. Several of our lawyers have worked within the Commission or the Parliament, and have regular contact with the key policy makers.
The recent extension of the powers of the European Parliament in EU-decision making has significantly increased its importance as a forum for influencing new legislation. The working committees of the Parliament operate with much greater transparency than the Commission. Our lawyers are particularly active within the Parliament, and have special expertise in utilizing its procedures to advance our clients' interests in the legislative process.
